One of the accused already proved his innocence by showing that he was using an ATM, buying food and being driven around in a cab during the time frame the rape allegedly occured in. The police and the prosecution both refused to accept the evidence saying he could show it to the jury.

The photo array lineup was like this: Here are 35 students from the lacross team who were ALL at the party, tell us who the 3 students that raped you are.

THAT IS NOT HOW YOU DO A PHOTO LINEUP!

You show the victim an array of 6 or more photos with the accused and 5 non-crime-related people of similar size, build, hair color, etc... Then the victim picks the 3 rapests out of the 35 photo arrays she views...

This means she can make a mistake and choose the wrong people (people who aren't on the team and weren't at the party). Instead she was put in a situation where she could not fail. Everyone she was shown was at the party. No way to pick someone who wasn't.
