I live in Coconut Creek which is about 7 mins from the beach and is nice, Ft.Lauderdale is great, Boca Raton isn't bad at all either. There are tons of condos all about and the apartment communities are more like country clubs (mine is one of them). The closer you get to the beach the more the prices go up though, and I have a friend that pays as much for his one bedroom as I do for my 3 bedroom just by living 6 miles closer to the beach.
