TRACY - The mustard-colored house with cream trim and green shutters seemed just your average Tracy home until detectives swarmed it on Tuesday with a search warrant and weapons drawn. Inside the two-story, $725,000 house were 260 marijuana plants growing beneath ultraviolet lights.

STOCKTON -- After months of investigation, a joint narcotics task force arrested a Stockton man Friday, seizing $250,000 worth of drugs, including 3 pounds of methamphetamine and 2 pounds of heroin, according to officials.

STOCKTON - The discovery of 20 sophisticated indoor marijuana gardens in four- and five-bedroom homes in north Stockton and Weston Ranch neighborhoods this month has sent a ripple through the affected communities.
Three weeks ago, the marijuana operations continued unnoticed behind blocked-out windows that shielded bright grow lights. Then police SWAT teams began battering down the front doors and revealing complex electrical, ventilation and watering systems feeding up to 500 plants a home, about 6,000 plants total.

STOCKTON -- The investigation into 20 indoor marijuana grow operations uncovered over two weeks in Stockton this month will become part of a larger federal investigation.
A federal grand jury Thursday handed down indictments of four San Francisco men arrested Sept. 13 in the first of the Stockton raids.
Federal prosecution is already under way in a similar operation in Sacramento and Elk Grove, and the indictments are the first formal link in what is being called the most sophisticated drug syndicate ever uncovered in north central California
