I think that creative people, whether a photographer, a painter, a web designer, a musician or any other creative person would usually appreciate constructive criticism as long as it's delivered in a professional & respectful manner. The problem is that this is GFY and full of idiots who have no idea what they are talking about.

In order for Venus to grow as a shooter, she should only be entertaining constructive criticism from people who are better then she is. Who wants to take advice from someone who is not on their level? Mike South is a decent shooter and I have a lot of respect for what he's done....but I've seen nothing that he's done that Venus can't do. Why would she want to take advice from Mike South? Had Mike been "constructive" with his comments, you might have seen a different attitude by Venus. Nobody likes their work to be attacked on a public board and that's why it's important to make your comments "constructive". This is a little too complicated for most of the surfers here to understand though
