You seem to be getting a few elements confused.
Key areas:
1. Design.
2. Affiliates.
3. Webmaster.
4. Reasoning.
5. Live Shows.
1. The design of the site, members area, affiliate program, promotional tools is independent. You would hire out such jobs on a per cost basis. No cut here.
2. Affiliates are independent webmasters who send your site traffic. Typically they get 50% of all new sign ups and 50% of those re bills for the life of the customer. These are customers you do not or would not have without them. Some sites offer affiliates a per sign up rate, meaning instead of paying them a percentage for new sign ups they pay a flat fee; Thirty dollars or higher per member is the norm.
Some affiliates if on a rev share system may get upset if they do not also get 50% of inside members area revenue, yet many do not if it helps with site retention. Retention being how long a customer they sent stays a member and re bills. If the site is pay per sign up, then typically do what you want in your members area, it is fair game to you.
You are still fully allowed to send your own traffic and keep 100% of those customers revenue.
3. A webmaster would be someone you hire for either their skills, to manage the site, update the site, bring in additional traffic, use their contacts, or whatever. You can act as your own webmaster if you are willing to learn the ropes. It really is not all that difficult, just take a look around here. You may also just hire someone for a set monthly salary to do certain things you may not be comfortable doing yet, do not have the skills to do, or you do not have the time to do.
Instead of paying a fixed sum, or doing it yourself. You could make an arrangement to let someone do it all for you for a percentage of the site revenue, most often all site revenue. If that is the case they better be bringing a lot to the table.
4. Reasoning for a members site. Aside from the extra income a monthly fee would give you. It also gives a set rate that every members pays even if they do not purchase any live shows that month. Your show buyers would also be getting extra perks such as pictures, and movies they could watch at their leisure. You could interact with them more through posting and whatnot. You would also of course tap into those that do not like live shows but are still interested in you. This area could go on and on.
5. Your live shows can be used within the members area. This would be an up sell. Meaning just because someone becomes a member it does not give them free web cam shows with you privately. Unless of course you desire to offer them. These can be billed independently. You also could set up an alternate URL to direct your own traffic to where people could buy shows without being a member.
