Series Record: Michigan leads, 56-36-6
Recently: Michigan leads 10-3-1 in the past 13 seasons

2000: Michigan 38, Ohio State 26
More misery for Cooper
The Buckeyes scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to make it interesting, but the Wolverines turned back Ohio State on a late fourth-and-1 that helped seal the game. Michigan's Drew Henson completed 14 of 25 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns, also scoring on a 1-yard bootleg with 1:18 left after the Wolverines stopped the Buckeyes on downs. It was just more misery for John Cooper, who would end his Ohio State career with only two victories in 13 tries against the Maize and Blue

1999: Michigan 24, Ohio State 17
No bowl game for Buckeyes
The Wolverines got a measure of revenge from the 1998 loss, which kept them out of the Rose Bowl, defeating Ohio State to leave them with a 6-6 record and out of the bowl picture for the first time since 1988. Michigan trailed for much of the game, finally tying it at 17 late in the third quarter on a Tom Brady TD pass to Shawn Thompson. Brady's scoring strike to Marquise Walker with five minutes remaining gave Michigan its first lead of the game, and the defense made it stand up.

1997: Michigan 20, Ohio State 14
Woodson leads national championship-bound Wolverines
En route to a perfect season and a share of the national championship, Michigan got a Heisman Trophy-winning performance from Charles Woodson. He had an electrifying 78-yard punt return for a touchdown, an interception and caught a 37-yard pass that set up the first score of the game.

1996: Michigan 13, Ohio State 9
Michigan stomps on Buckeyes' title hopes
For the second consecutive season, Ohio State entered the Michigan game with a 10-0 record -- and for the second consecutive time, the Wolverines handed the Buckeyes bitter defeat. In this one, Michigan got a 69-yard touchdown pass from Brian Griese and two field goals from Remy Hamilton. And that was enough to hold off Ohio State, which gained only 84 yards after halftime.
