What he intends to do is photoshop HIS xbox 360's serial number/purchase date on the receipt. All he wants to do is make it seem like he bought the item from Walmart say back in November 2005 or whenever. It's a scam for sure, but it's not an overly dastardly one -- at most what he did was bought a defunct unit from eBay for $200-250, called up MS and complained about the three rings of red deathness, they told him what he needed to send it back. The scam really isn't hurting anyone except the original purchaser of the Xbox 360, but that was his or own fault for not knowing about the recall of units made before January 2006.
