I don't see anything strange in people sometimes finding faith and I can imagine that if it happened to me, I would probably feel I had to get out of this industry. But I am deeply suspicious of most of the so-called fundamentalist and evangelical Christian churches who seem to account for most such "revelations".
Neither the message nor the style of these congregations seems to have a whole lot to do with the New Testament. On the contrary, they have reverted to the much more obvious emotional appeal of the Old Testament: often flying in the face of the message Christ delivered. That may not occur to those who attend such churches, caught up in the fervour of their new-found faith. But it is a reality that cannot have slipped by the organizers.
If they wanted to call themselves non-Jews for Jehovah or whatever, fine. But they seem to pick and choose whatever will get them an audience. As far as I am concerned, that makes them self-serving manipulators and I feel sorry for those who are persuaded by them.
