IMO the doctrine claiming that natural sexual urges and fantasies are sinful and immoral is ultimately what "hurts families and people" because it forces people to hide their desires and to feel bad about themselves. I've been around this business probably as long as you've been alive, and have known more people and relationships (talent and fan alike) whose lives have been
bettered because of porn than have been destroyed.
I'd rather see someone say, "In retrospect, my decision to do thus-and-such didn't exactly turn out as I'd hoped... so now I'm doing something else. That was then, this is now; it's been a slice... moving on," without blaming it on others. More worrisome still is blaming it on invisible forces.
Shit, I made all sorts of stupid mistakes in my early 20s. I'm not dead, maimed or in a looney bin so none of them must've been that bad. It wasn't demons or bad people or anyone other than me, in my naivete, who put me in a bad situation. So the lesson's learned and we move on, no absolution, self-flagellation or repentance necessary.
