You could have just quit the business without bringing God into the mix. Do you think he appreciates it when people abandon him until they feel lost, then they suddenly realise that they need God again?
It doesn't quite work that way. Nor does it work when people claim to be Christian, but only practice what they preach once or twice a week, yet they sin all of the other days.
