In all honesty, I think they are the next step in evolution. They are a VERY rough draft, but a mix of male and female... it's perfect.
Scientists have proven that a man can carry a baby to full term, but can not conceive a child. Give it a few hundred thousand years and some mad science and ya just never know.
If some reptiles can do it, why can't we?
We have to evolve into something and I don't think an overweight couch potato counts. Natural selection will weed those out. The strong and adaptable will survive.
