It would be a sad comment on this industry if that were an accurate estimate. Ignoring what is under discussion, DH would have been hard pressed to handle himself less professionally in this thread if he had tried.
If you are going to get into a market, score a quick hit and then quit, you can afford to think in terms of anything legal being fair game. Otherwise many such things would come under the category of "sh*tting on your own doorstep".
That comment isn't intended as an appeal to the people who are damaging the industry. They know exactly what they are doing and don't care. But I fail to understand why those who are in business for the long-term tolerate, let alone support such individuals. It is
your doorstep these people are crapping on,
your future earnings which are paying for their get-rich-quick schemes, and
you they are laughing at for helping them steal
your money.
Because that is exactly what they are doing. None of these schemes, no matter which side of the law they fall, are generating business. Directly or indirectly, all they are doing is snatching business from those who operate in ways which won't ultimately create a backlash. No industry can afford to turn a blind eye to such tactics, least of all one which faces so many opponents who will use anything to restrict our activities.
