That is a prefectly valid question. And I will tell you why!
Nuts are bland, and offer little flavor, BUT.. they offer substance and texture to an otherwise 'smooth' food. Kind of like nuts in a cookie, or sesame sp*? seeds on a bun, or something of that nature.. There is no real reason for nuts in a brownie.. just texture unfortunately.
