One could argue that you can't have a debate with non-believers. The problem is that when you strip everything away, it all comes down to a debate on faith and belief. non-believers choose to put their faith in mankind's current knowledge and science.. believers choose to put their faith in a being who they believe will ensure they get the correct knowledge.

Not sure where you get the invisible men thing. But I can't agree with your statement that the books are "proven" to be false. Often times the arguments that the bible is false are based on a false understanding of what it is and what is says. The arguments are also made using "science" that has proven to be only as accurate as today's knowledge.

Case in point, up until a decade or so ago, "ulcers" were not thought to be caused by bacteria (actually it may have been a virus or something, I can't remember the details now). A doctor had tests that showed that most ulcers were in fact caused by bacteria. He was ridiculed by the scientific community and labeled a quack. In the end, it was proven he was correct. The older I get, the more I see that mankind as a whole knows very little about ourselves and our surroundings and nothing is written in stone.

Here's one of the typical things. The bible says that the earth was created in 6 days.. non-believers say that's simply not correct. What I call "stupid" religions and religious people say it's the truth. But here's the thing. The bible also says that 1 day to men is as 1000 years to god. So one could "assume" that that means the bible is saying the earth was created in 6,000 years... But that's not right either. The bible says it's "as" 1000 years.. so for all anyone knows, it could in fact be 1 million years... Which means, the earth could have been created in 6 million years... Closer to what the scientic community believes???

At the end of the day.. It all comes down to a decision everyone has to make as to what they put their faith in. As long as you're fullfilled and happy with the results then that's the best anyone can hope for.
