ANSWER: Small classifieds will do the job. Agencies will charge more than your budget permits if you're just starting out.
2. I don't have a studio to shoot content, should I just get a hotel room for a night to start out, or does that look bad in camera and will the models be like "fuck off" if I suggest meeting them in a hotel room? You can always tell when something has been shot in a hotel room. Are there studios I can rent out for this specific purpose?
ANSWER:
Yes, rent a studio or shoot outdoors in a no traffic area. Not many hotels will be into having you filming porn flicks in their rooms. Maybe small motels you can get away with that. Or you'll have to do some heavy duty tipping to the manager. You can also find pervs that will rent out there homes for adult movies. They usually get $500 to $1000 for the day and get to watch which is the main reason they do it.
3. How much do you pay models?
Whats standard for a girl solo, and whats standard for the girl and the guy in a hardcore shoot?
ANSWER: You can find girls from a few hundred to several thousand. You get what you pay for, that's for sure.
4. Should I just hire solo girls to do stuff on camera or is solo girl movie content boring and unwanted?
ANSWER: Depends on what your direction is and the audience you are selling to. Playboy and Penthouse sell more videos than anyone and they're mostly all softcore.
5. This is probably a dumb question but if I'm shooting hardcore content do I just let them worry about safe sex? It's only my job to capture what they do on camera right?
ANSWER: No one who has half a brain will do a movie unless everyone on the set shows their recent std test results. Its virtually unheard of these days, unless you find some really dumb ass people to be in your flick. You'd set yourself up for a hell of a lot of liability if you don't require this from everyone in your production.
6. Do you have others with you when you shoot, or do you handle the whole shoot yourself there without assistants with you? Unfortunately I don't have any friends who are interested in doing this with me so I dont know what I'll need that I'm not thinking about.
ANSWER: Always have other people present when you do a hardcore production as a witness that nothing forced happens. If you can't afford or don't have anyone to be there, I'd turn on the video camera the minute the girls walk in and leave it running until they walk out at the end of the shoot just to have a record of everything said and done.
Moviemaking is a big deal and don't bother doing it unless you know what you're doing and can do it all right. You'll be wasting your time and money otherwise. You might want to partner up with someone already in the biz.
