That is always a standard no brain style response and reaction. Of course I could always leave, though they make sure I have a bunch of damn hoops to jump through as well in order to leave.
The issue is why in the hell should I have to. I have every right to bitch and complain about any thing I feel like in and about what is happening in this country. Well at least for now I do, I am sure somewhere somebody is working on some way to prevent me from doing that as well. First it will start that I will have to do my bitching and complaining in a special roped off bitching zone at least three hundred feet from anyone who may be offended by what I may or may not say.
I can love the idea of America and still hate what has happened to that idea and the people who are behind it.
By all accounts I am the ideal little citizen. I vote in every election and not just the ones for president either. I serve in jury duty almost every year when they call upon me to do so. I pay my taxes, even the ones that I feel are complete bullshit. I also do my most important duty of a citizen that gets me in the most trouble, I voice my opinion, I criticize, and bitch about anything and everything I feel is wrong with the current idea of America and the Americans responsible for it.
What scares me though is that my childhood role model and person I looked up to throughout my life would by all accounts be labeled unpatriotic and very possibly be either in jail, assassinated, deported, or at very least be on a Government watch list in today's America, and a good majority of other Americans would also support such actions. That man of course happened to be Thomas Jefferson.
My other real American hero's such as Ezell A. Blair, Jr., Franklin E. McCain, Joseph A. McNeil, David L. Richmond, Lenny Bruce, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Guelma Mc Lean, Hannah Mosher, Tatanka Iyotake, and many others. Oddly enough they all share a similar threads, one that I attached onto early on in life. Thankfully I had great grandparents who turned me on to these people and parents that helped me research and understand what I could find out about them.
The madness and apathy should stop. The citizens of this country need to stand up and let the world know that they are sick and fucking tired of the bastardisation of the current idea of what America has become.
