This is the only part about the whole thing that just doesn't seem to make sense to me. I have a daughter who is almost one and I can't imagine something like this happening to her and how emotionally draining it would be. Having said that, I just feel like if I did receive this news, creating a donation thread on gfy would be the very last thing I'd think about doing.

Talking with family, friends, relatives, churches, bank, etc.... about financial help and fundraising options seems like the initial thing to do after you've assessed the situation and what the total of medical expenses will most likely be. Gfy seems like the last option for seeking donations, but I understand the thread most likely came out of fear and desperation.

I do think that the circumstances surrounding how the money will be allocated should not deter from the main issue that Samuel has a very serious medical condition and needs help.
