I think it's pretty naive to think that all politicians are evil. That's a kind of '17 year old' attitude to appear hip to one's mates.
The thing with guys who are good talkers and likeable is that they are not neccessarily any good - they just
appear to be good. Take Clinton for instance - an absolutely abysmal president but he was a likeable chap. Even I like him, but I'm not shallow enough to be hoodwinked by his charm.
Bush is something of a fool, but he's nowhere near as foolish as people make out. The main reason people think he is an idiot is because he has no charm at all and has difficulty speaking in public. But again, I'm not shallow enough to not be able to see through that. It's also a fact that president Bush is only one man, whereas the US is run by many thousands of high level executives. Take the State Department for instance - they have been at odds with Bush from the start but have made many more mistakes than he has.
