If that's going to hurt her, I wouldn't do it.. You know, what goes around, comes around (or what you give is what you get / karma rules etc etc)
As for stopping in a moment to love someone, yeah, it happened to me. I admit I was a teenager and maybe not too stable emotionally but when that old boyfriend of mine was drunk and dared to slap my face, I just turned around and never came back. Moreover, all the feelings were gone, too.
