I think the people that benefit are the oil companies. Not that I have a big problem with that. The richer big businesses are, the more jobs that are created, etc.

I just dont think if that small strip of land belonged to palenstine instead of isreal that american lives would be much different.

We have decent relations with some of the countries in that region. And could use our wealth to buy allies if needed.

I think Kurtz, like a lot of other soldiers try to do the right thing, or what they are told is the right thing, and then discover the horrors and hypocracy of war.
