Hard drive camcorder rez question..

Im looking at a few Sony camcorders... and Ive read the specs on them, but I dont know if these resolution specs as far as horizontal line and MP resolution are specifically for the still image feature or they pertain to the video rez... Can some1 clue me in here? Thanks..
