I believe Quiet is the "some idiot mentioned that there was the possibility of a lot of money to be made from Asian surfers."
and I am the "expert" who "dumped on the guy because everyone knows that the Koreans and Japanese don?t have credit cards"
Obviously Marie doesn't think Quiet is an idiot or think I am an expert. She was being sarcastic. In fact she's implying that I am in fact the idiot for saying that people in Asia "don't have as many credit cards as US/Can and Europe"
First thing I wondered after reading this is how did I "dump" on on Quiet's post? All I said was that I think people in Asia "don't have as many credit cards as US/Can and Europe."
I would like to see you (or anyone else) prove my statement wrong.
So now I would like to take this opportunity to respond to this article, and Marie's claim that I should be stoned (to death I assume) for my post.
I never said there wasn't money to be made from the Asian market. However, the last time I checked, Asia consisted of more than just Japan and Korea. My post was in response to the title of the thread which was "Asian Internet Market."
Japan and Korea only make up about 5% of the population of Asia. They're also the two wealthiest Asian countries, so naturally their citizens would be more likely to have the ability to pay for porn. So what about the other 95% of Asia?
Interestingly enough, the other 95% of Asia happens to be over 3 billion people! This 3 billion people have nowhere near the amount of money that Japan and Korea do, and I would like you to show me that they have anywhere near the number of credit cards as Americans and Europeans.
Also, by the end of 2003, Asia will have more internet users than the US.

So it looks to me that there will be more and more Asian surfers with no ability to pay for porn even if they somehow had the money to do so.
So now that I've gone to the trouble to educate your small town Tasmanian mind, can you please explain to me why I should be "stoned" for my original post?
