If I remember correctly, they had some fines a while back from spam. It's against their policy and allowing an account, which has had problems before, to remain open is bigger risk than reward.
I'm sure they don't just go closing accounts for the hell of it.

The problem wasnt that the account was shut down - the problem was that the account was shutdown without telling the affiliate, and this affiliate happened to be a large sponsor program who sent alot of joins their way.
No one is saying that the account
shouldnt have been shut down, just that you should tell the affiliate (especially when its another sponsor program) that they are doing so.
Shutting down account is a daily occurence - but shutting them down and neglecting to inform the affiliate is a no-no.
