Yes, this is one of the most contentious area's of debate between religious historians these days. There's evidence that strongly suggests that Mary Magdelene was so favoured by Jesus Christ because she was A, his sister ( and so carried the same royal bloodline as himself ), and B, Jesus married her, ( the wedding at Canaan was quite clearly
his wedding, regardless of what the Bible leads us to belive ), and later she bore his child.
The implications of this if eventualy proved to be true will undoutbly rock the very foundations of the Roman Catholic Church, so maybe there is little wonder they have gone to such lengths to suppress this "heresy" for so long.
