If you ask historians, most will agree it was several people that have contributed to what you now read. Even the Torah (the first 5 books of the Old Testament) was in fact written by at least 4 different people in at least 4 different languages, and then compiled and edited into one fluid text.
The rest of it has been added to, subtracted from, censored, changed, and mistranslated from a series of letters, poems, historical accounts, monarchs, and church authorities over the past 2,000 years.
If you ask Christians, they have no idea who wrote the Bible. Until I was 15 I was told that God wrote it by sending Angels to a man who wrote it. I was also told that gay people sit next to Hitler in Hell and that even though God told the Jews not to eat shellfish, it was okay for me to chow down. Idiots.
