Seriously, though... Like any occupation, its not clear exactly who can call themself a Philosopher. Do you have to work 40 hours a week building to be a Carpenter? Etc... So, sure, anyone who puts the effort into it, and is a lover and seeker of knowledge and understanding, is a Philosopher. Then there is another, specialized definition, those in the academic field of Philosphy, like myself. I don't think the existence of one usage of the word undermines the other.
So, you and I are both Philosophers, in one sense, but only one of us is in the other. I see no reason to exclude you, or anyone else who is interested in Philosophy. You don't have to be an academic to think.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT. I only reason that I posted this silly fucking message -- was so that I could get the attention of a real philosopher for my thinking. I said to myself -- I want to talk to a "real fucking philosopher" tonight -- and sure enough I post on GFY and here you are. A real fucking Educumated Philosopher! Look what I have done!!!!
