I have to COMPLETELY 100% disagree with that statement. There are many ways of doing things and different people succeed in different ways. It also depends on your definition of "good living"

I've tried start to start many sites over time, most failures, but I do in fact earn about 98% of my living from my 1 largest site. I think everyone probably has a flagship site that is more popular than the rest.

Personally, I find it too hard to work on multiple site, mostly because I'm lazy and I think that having one really well built and frequently update site is better than have 10 half-assed, half-built sites.
