well... so what? welcome to democracy. I am not defending anyones rights to do anything. i was simply pointing out that the system first and foremost is functioning exactly like it is supposed to. i dont like it. i dont like the idea of someone elses sense of morality ruling what i can and cannot do, can and cannot watch etc... HOWEVER, as a part of this democracy, i know that if i want to protect my rights in the same way that they want to enforce their will on me, i have to stand up and fight.

where is that fight?

there isn't one.

so... the other side wins by default because they were able to properly use the political system to achieve their goals... and did so at the expense of a bunch of moronic, low life, rugged individuals who think its just their god given right to do anything they want.. never understanding that rights are created and taken away by man through the political process.

By prosecuting obscenity on all levels (extreme and vanilla), that is exactly what they are NOT doing. Porn is huge. In the US it brings in more revenues than the NFL, NBA and MLB combined. It sure sounds to me like the voters have spoken, yet the government bases their enforcement on the will of conservatives who think porn is evil.
Conservatives? well.. i would say that this is probably 60% or so a conservative issue. Democrats also go to church you know. Democrats are not just centered in Berkley, wearing tie-dyed t-shirts and smoking pot. The whole "conservative" "right wing" rhetoric is just that. Rhetoric. Democrats in fact are in a mad panic to win religious voters over. Why? because they are a major voting force that matters. Thats just democracy at work - as politician, you pander to the will of the voters. Should a democracy function some other way?

The FACT is that extreme porn has created a prosecution buffer zone between regular porn and the government. If they were to prosecute extreme porn out of existence, they wouldn't announce that they had cleansed the adult industry now would they? NO! They would come after gay, deep throat, orgy, etc... more than they do now.
The FACT is that there are boundaries to what people find acceptable. We Those boundaries have been established for a very long time. What this guy did was obviously over the line and only a few seem to be willing to acknowledge that fact. This is really just a "are you liberal or are you conservative"/"do you support bush" type conversation that left logic and fact by the wayside from the start.

Making unprovable statements that are purely hypothetical in nature do not equate to fact.
