11 yr olds with cell phones is just asking for trouble.. hell I don't even let my kids stay on my landline for over a 1/2 hour or so at a time.... there is no need for it.
This is just a little of what my 8 yr old does online, so you know.. she plays on barbie.com a LOT, watches trailers and movies of her favorite Disney shows on Disney.com, she has some age specific puzzles and games she plays online, and sometimes she and I will go on MSN and play online checkers or something of that nature. SHE doesn't have access to email.... under NO circumstances. That is left for my 13 and 17 yr olds, but she doesn't have that access.
I don't mean to give the impression that my kids just have free run at the internet, they don't by ANY means... but I won't deprive them of the educational and fun sides of it because there are dangers to it. There are equally as many, if not more dangers these days just walking out your front door and I don't lock them in their rooms or in the house.
