I'm a college student, so most of my friends are also college students and about evenly split between undergraduates and graduate students. Most of them have a tattoo or two. And I *don't* live in California.
My friends (and myself) probably put a lot more thought into the exact design and placement of our tattoos than the average porn star, though. I took two years getting my personal design exactly right and sought out a world-reknown tattoo artist to make sure it was done perfectly.
The problem isn't tattoos or people who get tattoos. It's BAD tattoos.

If a "Britney Spears" or "Kyle Minogue" type celeb was to put a dog turd on top her head, the streets would be so much safer to walk.
These girls, be they white trash or university students are just going along with this years fad. Wait till their kids ask "Why did you do that Mummy?"
