All that is needed for this "thermite" to burn is steel, aluminum, and a heat source high enough to start the reaction (jet fuel) I've read some articles about this, if you search on thermite 911 on google, you'll find it too..

Nah, it didnt need to "burn" the steel. Just heat it up a bit to make it plyable, then snap.
