the post was in response to Hig Quality's statement that canadian's are nothing but fluffers dumbass. We're anything but.
My uncle was a major in the US Army. He was able to avoid Vietnam only to be killed in a small uprising in the Dominican Republic at the same time. Only about 15 americans died in that one.
My grandfather was an engenieer who before WW2 invented turning signals on cars for a company called austin. (the first ones were'nt lights, they were sticks) - he then developed gun sites on ships that compensated for the rocking motion and allowed gunners to hit enemy aircraft much better. Because he was valueable to the war effort they wanted him out of england. During the height of the war he was transported to canada in a convoy of 3 ships. 2 were sunk by Uboats and they weren't able to stop to pick up survivors.
I have a lot of respect for Nov 11.
