As a person they might be ok but they are quite off putting as a scenery during dinner.

I feel that way about smokers and drunks....but I don't hate people that smoke and/or people that drink
Like I said, I know I can diet and spend hours working out and lose weight, but I'd rather eat what I enjoy, spend my time doing something I have fun doing, and again, my Dr. says I'm as healthy as they come
As far as the handicapped parking places - did anyone stop to think that maybe these people are overweight BECAUSE they're handicapped? If they have a handicapped parking sticker//plate/placard, then let's assume their doctor knew what they were doing when they issued it
I live in a retirement community with about 1/3 of the cars with handicapped plates - there's STILL always SEVERAL spaces available every where I go. If you're handicapped and you can't park because someone w/o a sticker/plate/placard is parked there, call the non-emergency number for the police and have their car towed

In Atlanta, there's a group of handicapped people that are licensed to give out tickets to people misusing the spots - see if that's available where you live.
