With this type cancer, you need an MRI every 4-8 weeks to be able to determine what treatment is working and adjust it accordingly. The Canadians told us they were lucky if they got ONE.
And the most amazing part of all to me- they would get to the hospital for their chemo and would be told, "Sorry, you can't have your treatment. We don't have any beds. Go home and we'll call you if something opens up in a few days."

But that's the neat part of it up here, that we have the best of both worlds. When needed we CAN go south and pay if that's what the person thinks they need to do. Many of your hospitals are equipped with MRI's, but like I said... people's cases are prioritized by severity. Yes there is a waiting list for certain things, and when that becomes a pain in the ass for someone they are free to head south and pay.
Ask yourself this though..... how many Americans also have had to sell their homes, possessions etc just to pay for their medical care? We've certainly seen enough folks on this board post that they need donations to help with their hospital bills over the years, ALL of them US citizens. I don't recall seeing even one Canadian on here asking (or begging) for donations for medical care... now why is that?
And my sister-in-law recently battled cancer here. She was diagnosed nearly 3 years ago, and her treatment (and recovery) has been, according to her, quite excellent. She confirms what I know first-hand having worked in the system for 15 years.... that we have it pretty good here. I can't speak for all provinces in Canada, I've lived here in Manitoba all my life. But I'll stack it up against anywhere in the world anytime.
And I never said our fruit was better than yours. We import too, so it's every bit as good though. :D
