Somebody please tell me why the doctors and the FDA should take all responsibility for this "problem"? We, the people, go to doctors with "problems", and instead of solving these problems the long and hard way we beg for a magic little pill that makes everything go away. The doctors are doing their job giving you what you want. If it were the reverse, and the doctor refused to give you a pill that you knew would make you temporarily feel better, you would be just as pissed.
I absolutely hate the pill based society we have become. Everybody has a "condition" that suddenly needs pills and medication to solve instead of roughing it out and getting to the core of the problem. Kids are fed ritalin like candy so they "behave properly", when in essence what's happening is we're drugging our kids so they act a certain way.
Every now and then I'll meet somebody that starts talking about an illness they have and the medication they take to correct that illness. Then they ask me how many pills and medications I take for my condition. None. Zero. I use eyedrops, thats it. They're always baffled. The mind is very powerful, more people need to realize this. The mind can cure many of your ailments. People think I'm crazy when I say that, but I stand behind it 100%.
