The thing that made me first notice American patriotism was the Major League Baseball All-Star game right after the first Gulf War started. When whoever was signing sang, "Our flag was still there," the place erupted to the point where you couldn't hear the rest of the song. It was literally spine tingling.
When they sing the National Anthem up here, we can't even stand up because we're drunk from all the beer we've drank before the game. BUT, it is CANADIAN beer. See, we're just patriotic in different ways.
