Exactly. See you can't watch The Sopranos like that. It doesn't tell the story where every episode is built on the last one. It's kinda how some of the X-Files shows were. Some episodes are just 'slice of life' type shows where you get a feel of what they go through day to day but they don't necessarily have to be part of the backbone of the big picture. Like I think David Chase said on the Season 1 DVD, they weren't even gonna carry out the 'Where's Pussy?' angle to start Season 2, but it became like a cliffhanger phenom that he didn't expect so they decided to write it out. Also like the Massive Genius angle with the big lawsuit with Hesch and the family. Or they could have carried out Dr. Melphi's rapist angle. Some things don't matter that much in the big picture.
