Your issuing bank and the MCC code that the transactions were cleared through will go a long way in determining what you get as far as chargebacks for stale transactions.
If you have a Citibank issued Visa/MC and you bought porn, it's not unusual to see many months (as many as 9) on the CDC form, even though you might have only asked to charge back a month or even two.
If you have a smaller bank issued card and the purchases were for non-high risk items, they aren't going to allow much on the chargebacks, it doesn't have the same risk/fraud parameters. You might be able to fill out a fraud form and get more months back, but again, that's at your banks discretion, since the merchant has the chance to represent the charges after you charge them back and then it starts to cost the bank more than its worth, especially on a 15 dollar recurring charge.
