Which sponsors use cookies (and for how long) to track webmaster referrals from their affiliates?

Or, are most webmaster referrals only valid at the time a new webmaster visits a sponsor site using another affiliate's referral code?

Also, which sponsors provide 'proof of referral signups' for affiliates who want to do (b2b) deals with other webmasters based on signing up 'under their affiliate code'?
