BTW... last year I went out back with the board when I heard some tail pops from some kids in the parking lot behind me house.

I had not been on my board in YEARS.

Rolled up, the kids gave me "that look" like I did not belong.

A few kickflips later along with some old school smooth as butter slappy smith grinds on a curb, I had their respect.

The took me to some spots, I think just to see what this old timer had in him.

Frontside and backside wall rides. Nailed them. Several kick flip tricks, airwalk, tail slides... perfect.

Then I saw one of the kids ollie up and do some sort of a shove-it nose slide down a hand rail about 5 steps long. No problem I though, I used to slide down handrails in my sleep.

I rolled up to it, POP... bailed. Try #2... rolled up, POP... bailed. I was thinking for sure I was never going to feel this incredible rush again.

Roll up, POP... smooth as butter.

Now I'm one of the kids. Still with some old school tricks, and some were a bit sketchy, but I was able to hang onto most.

After an hour or so I was feeling good, almost like old times but a little more winded and my shins were starting to hurt. I thought I would nail a frontside rail slide and call it a day.

Rolled up, POP... onto the rail... by board just stopped. I feel backwards and BUSTED MY FUCKING ASS harder than I have ever busted my ass before.

I don't remember the pavement being so hard. It really fucking hurt. It knocked the wind out of me and I was on the groud for about 20 minutes while the kids were sure I broke something. Nothing was broken but my pride.

I limped home, in too much pain to even skate.

That was the last time I got on a skateboard.
