If we could go to the Moom why would we be trying to build a free-floating spacestation? Would it not be easier to build on the Moon?

The landing films and photos were very hightech for their time but any 15 year old with an iMac could do a better job today.
We detonated several nuclear devices in the van allen belt as well....i'm sure that doesn't help matters.
