I still have plenty of photo sets and old 3.5 Mb clips for the 56k crowd on my site, but my best sales and retention are to people that can download my complete 20+ min., 200Mb scenes.

dial-up content and 800x600 res are two very different things. The majority of Broadband content still isn't any bigger than 800x600.
Catering to 56k doesn't take much but 800x600 is a very significant chunk of people. Don't forget that people with 800x600 screens also aren't the most tech savvy and unlike their grandson on their 1280x1024 DSL machine isn't filesharing 50 gig of porn for free. The cost of resolution isn't a big deal these days.. you're talking legacy stuff and computers being handed to grandparents etc. Broadband is a different story.
Only 2% of our members use 56k streams... I would certainly say most of any increase you saw would come from a broadband focus rather than a site thats a little wider than before. Also other factors can come into play like the new tour might have been better at selling whether it was wider or not.
But then again.. I shouldn't really say anything until i've had two identical tours running in tandem - one for 800 wide and one for 1024 wide. Which I don't.
