Anything is possible ms, though doubt anyone who has plans for havoc cares who is in power or when elections are due.
If you are thinking of Al Queda, - don't think they need to do much at this time - assuming the game plan (and who knows what that actually is), is to cause economic and other problems for the US overseas, - that's working well.
Doubt any other group (and no country) has much interest in attacking the US in particular - they have their own interests and "spheres of operation". Tho, it's possible if Young George gets in their face, - it could start a motivation for attacking in some form.
