I think you mean they support the troops/men fighting, not the military. A lot of these singers come from some little podunk town who have had family members serve in the military.

People tend to forget that a lot of the time its the lower class out there fighting these wars. Country music singers aren't usually the children of successful wall street stock brokers, or the like.
