I just went to thier site and saw this posted on it.
"Thank you for visiting ASACP (Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection)
It has come to our attention that ASACP is currently under "spoof" email attack. If you are visiting ASACP due to a threatening email you received we can assure you that this email is not from Joan Irvine, Executive Director of ASACP, nor was it sent by ASACP or any member of our organization.
The email you received is what is commonly referred to as a "spoof" email and may appear to come from our organization but this is not the case. ASACP has been attacked in this way in the past due to the work ASACP is involved. ASACP is a target for certain criminal organizations and individuals who would like nothing better than to hinder our operations. This appears to have been written by someone with the purpose of discrediting ASACP and the work we do.
Unfortunately, there is very little that can be done to prevent these types of cyber attacks but if you did receive a copy of this email please forward the original email with full headers to
[email protected] with "Spoof Email" as the subject. This may assist us in the investigation of this matter.
If you have already made a donation to ASACP, under duress, as a result of this "spoof" email please notify us at
[email protected] and we will issue you a full refund. Please include a copy of the transaction receipt you received when you made the donation.
It has been confirmed by ASACP that the attachment that came with the "spoof" email you received contains a virus. If you have not already done so we would recommend that you update your virus definitions and scan your computer for virus infection.
We appreciate your support in combating child pornography and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
