Can only say from what I've seen within eg the Argylls - and this was off any battlezone. They are highly disciplined and irrespective of rank, there is oozing respect for each other tho little may be said.
Tho my father-in-law screamed shit at troops and officers in training, once the screaming stopped - it was utter respect and consideration all round. Same with the senior officers to the lowest of ranks.
It's hard to convey the "aura", but very obvious they were a "team" who would be useful in eg. policing an area and cooling unrest, and if there was resistance, get into hand-to-hand and bayonet killing (they did plenty of that in Aden - too much for the British govt at times

). Flip side is they'd prob be good at relationships/communication with populations in other regions - something that may be currently lacking in a few current hotspots.
