Sweetie, you are talking about two different drugs
Ativan- the brand name of lorazepam, a short-acting benzodiazepine. Used as an antianxiety medication also prescribed for anxiety with depression.
Xanax- Alprazolam is an anxiolytic benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety disorders.
Neither should be mixed with alcohol ever. Ativan totally exaggerates the effect of alcohol. There is no reason to to drink alcohol if just take two Xanax especially if it extended release Xanax. Do not drive if you mix either Ativan or Xanax. I'm not trying to tell you want to do. I had a horrible reaction when I mixed Ativan and alcohol and almost choken to death on my own vomit.
