And odd how the birthdays come into play... my mother died on the morning of her birthday, she was 42.

When I was young and my mom would get upset at us kids, she would basically lock us in the house until things calmed down. Her biggest fear was that she (or us) would leave and never see each other again, leaving one party in a world of regret.
I carry that with me to this day. With my girlfriend, I get really worked up if she leaves when we are in a fight. I tell her you never know what could happen.
That said, it isn't always a healthy way to live. Life happens and judgement really isn't made from one final set of words.
But you can't expect the one who lives to understand...I know I wouldn't; thus, I continue...
