Look, I just think that the Adventures of Gumby was a ground breaking piece of work for it's time, in fact many could argue that it (and Pingu of course, who could forget Pingu!) broke grounds in the claymation department and ultimately allowed such great movies to exist such as Nightmare Before Christmas being made. If the Adventures of Gumby had been chock full of sci-fi effects and flashiness from the getgo, nobody would have cared about it. Now look at it, fucking lasers spewing from Gumby's mouth and Pokey being beefier than that 300lb football chick. It?s downright sad =(
