They want to make an equitable exchange since the value of human life should be considered equal regardless of race or religion. Again I don't defend them or either side for that matter. But from a humanitarian standpoint both sides are taking prisoners and one of the sides is hiding it and not allowing mass media to broadcast the facts.

Not sure it's even a matter of "prisoner exchange" Julian. Chances are they will be dumped somewhere unharmed and told to piss off.

There have been a number of incidents like this over a few years and Hezbollah has released all without problems and within a relatively short time - they are not Al-Queda
